There is Light in The Morning

Every morning the sun comes up and a new day begins but that doesn’t mean the darkness disappears. It sneaks up on you. You think you have finally run away from it all before it completely consumes you.

Until one night it has found you and come to knock you down once more. In a matter of seconds, what you know changes. The home you once had is destroyed by the people carrying out the last person you have. You watch the flashing lights of the ambulance for minutes that feel like hours knowing she is dying.

When the ambulance finally drives away, you stand there not knowing what your future looks like. You think, what’s going to happen to you if she dies. You have no one.

Hours pass by until you see her. Tubes down her throat, but you’ve seen this before. You’re used to this. The nurses eventually take the tube out of her throat but her heart can’t handle that and it stops once again.

They are able to start it back up again.

You come back the next day, and she seems to be back to her normal self. A sense of relief goes through your entire body. She looks at you with a smile on her face, and her eyes full of love. You are her everything, and she is yours.

Days go by and she seems to be doing good. She’s pretty much back to her normal self, but then you get a call one night. She went into cardiac arrest and is unresponsive. You should come to the hospital and say goodbye.

You get to the hospital to find her body shaking rapidly. You stand outside of the room refusing to go in. Knowing if you do, you’re not going to make it out. People come and say their goodbyes, and then look at you with the look you hate, pity.

Two weeks pass until she is officially gone. Two weeks of watching her wither away. You know life will never be the same. You don’t know how you will survive, but you will. You have to.

You have a recording of her voice, but you know it will never be as good as the original. But that doesn’t stop you from listening to it on repeat.

Darkness surrounds you, but you have a wonderfully amazing God that will bring you into the light. He loves you more in a second than she ever could in a lifetime.
